Our Story
As founders, we met during our university journey. In a shower “eureka” moment, Lethabo conceived the name APARO, later bringing Lehlogonolo on board with the idea of building a lifestyle brand. As roommates, we shared a space and two years later, a vision. APARO was born from that shared pursuit of building a brand that goes beyond clothing to represent a way of life.
While the world offers no shortage of premium and lifestyle brands, we saw an opportunity to build something closer to home. APARO was founded to contribute to a new generation of South African brands that people can identify with, take pride in and one day pass on as part of our cultural legacy. From our name, APARO, to products like the Amo bag, our ambition is to create products that feel globally relevant while remaining unmistakably South African.
